Water tank maintenance

Water Tank Cleaning & Maintenance in Lagos

Stored water can sit in a tank you rarely open. We clean and visually inspect overhead tanks, underground tanks and reservoirs, then document the visible condition and completed work with photos.

Why it matters

Out of Sight Shouldn't Mean Out of Mind

Over months, tanks quietly collect dirt, sediment, algae and debris you'd never spot from the tap. You can't manage what you never see. A clean, inspected tank is honest peace of mind: especially for homes with young children or elderly family.

  • Sediment, sludge and algae build up silently at the base and walls
  • You get before/after photos so you can see the difference
  • A clean tank protects your pump, pipes and appliances downstream

What's included

What a Tank Cleaning Covers

A standard visit focuses on cleaning, sediment removal and inspection. Anything beyond that scope is flagged and quoted separately.

Drain & Sludge Removal

We drain remaining water and remove settled sludge, sediment and debris from the base and walls.

Scrub & Rinse

Interior surfaces are scrubbed and rinsed to clear biofilm, algae and stains as far as the tank allows.

Inspection

We check the cover, inlet/outlet, float valve and visible fittings for damage, leaks or contamination risks.

Cover & Hygiene Check

A loose or broken cover lets in dust, insects and lizards. We confirm it seals and note replacements needed.

Photo-Backed Report

Before/after photos and notes on anything we found: sent to your phone after the visit.

Reminder (on a plan)

On a maintenance plan, we remind you before the next cleaning is due so it never slips.

Tanks we handle

Overhead, Underground & Reservoirs

  • Overhead plastic (poly) tanks: the common GeePee-style home tank
  • Overhead steel and stainless tanks
  • Underground tanks and sumps
  • Concrete reservoirs for estates and facilities
  • Multiple-tank setups (storage + booster configurations)
Honest about water safety

Cleaning removes sediment, sludge and visible contamination and improves the state of your storage. It is not a medical or water-safety guarantee. If you drink from the tank, we recommend pairing a clean tank with proper filtration or treatment.

Scope & pricing

Major repairs, tank replacement, new plumbing or installations are quoted separately. See the water tank cleaning cost guide for typical ranges and what affects them.

Water Tank Cleaning FAQ

For most Lagos homes, every 3–6 months is sensible. Heavy use, borehole/hard water or past sediment problems may call for more frequent cleaning. See our guide on how often to clean a water tank.

A typical single overhead tank takes roughly 1–2 hours depending on size, access and how much sediment has built up. Underground tanks and reservoirs take longer.

Someone should provide access to the tank and water/power. You don't need to watch the whole job: your photo report shows exactly what was done.

Minor items can often be handled on the spot. Larger repairs and replacement parts are quoted separately so there are no surprises.
